Family & Milestone Event Photo Editing

Every face in the group, exposed and coloured as one. Family sessions and milestone events, from birthdays and anniversaries to christenings and graduations, bring the same problems as a wedding at a smaller scale: big groups, mixed light and a dozen skin tones in one frame. We edit them with the same care.

Family & Milestone Event Editing

We balance exposure across groups so nobody at the edge falls into shadow, keep skin tones consistent between indoor and outdoor sets, and hold your colour style across the whole gallery. Blinks and duplicates can be culled before editing.

Family & Milestone Event Editing

Smaller sessions come back as a finished Lightroom catalog. Larger events are priced close to our wedding collections, with the same turnaround.

What is family and event photo editing?

Family and event photo editing turns a session or celebration into one consistent gallery: exposure balanced across big groups, skin tones held steady between indoor and outdoor sets, colour casts from party lighting corrected, and your signature look applied to every frame. These galleries are rarely as large as a wedding but often just as demanding, and they tend to arrive in the same busy weeks. Outsourcing them keeps your delivery times short without taking evenings away from weddings.

What makes family and event photos hard to edit

Large groups in uneven light, where the people at the edges fall into shadow Moving between indoor rooms and outdoor sets within the same hour Several generations and skin tones in a single frame Children who blink, turn away or never stand still Party lighting such as string lights, DJ colours and candles Hundreds of candid frames that need sorting before anything is edited

How family and event editing works

Send your catalog. Export the session or event as a Lightroom catalog of Smart Previews and share it through Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer. Optional culling. For larger events we can cull blinks and duplicates first, at $0.02 per RAW frame. Hand edit. Every frame is matched to your style, with group exposures balanced and skin tones kept consistent. Back in Lightroom. The edits sync to your originals in one click, usually within 3–5 business days.

How many photos to deliver from a family session or event

Delivery counts vary by photographer, but these typical ranges are a good starting point: Family session, about an hour: 50–150 images Milestone party, 3–4 hours: 250–400 images Full-day celebration: 500–800 images

Editing family sessions yourself, with presets, or outsourcing

Editing it yourself: Three hours or more for 150 images: Your eye, frame by frame: Quiet months and small sessions A preset and a quick pass: Under an hour: Breaks across groups, rooms and party lights: Simple sessions in one even light RawFixer family and event editing: None; back in 3–5 business days: Matched by hand to your style profile: Busy seasons and large events

How much does family photo editing cost?

Family sessions of up to 150 images are $45. Milestone events of up to 400 images are $109, and large celebrations of up to 800 images are $199. There is no subscription or minimum order.

How long does family and event editing take?

Edited galleries come back within 3–5 business days. A 48-hour rush is available for $50 when the family needs photos sooner.

Can you fix a blink in a group photo?

Often, yes. When the same group was photographed in a burst, we can swap in a face from another frame as advanced retouching at $2.50 per frame.

Can you cull the event before editing?

Yes. Culling is $0.02 per RAW frame. We remove blinks and duplicates, keep every family combination, and then edit the keepers.

How do you handle different skin tones in one photo?

We correct for the light first, then check each person’s skin so that lighter and deeper skin tones both look natural, rather than applying one global correction that suits only some of the group.

Are my clients’ photos kept private?

Yes. Galleries are handled under NDA and are never used to train AI models. Our privacy policy explains how client files are stored and handled.
